Removing this 1993 GMC Jimmy door
panel is not that difficult.
To start I rolled the
window down.
Then I removed the
plastic trim from the rear of the window frame.
To do this, I removed the three Phillips screws from
the trim.
The red arrows show the
locations of the screws.
I removed the two Phillips screws from the
inside of the door pull handle.
Using a rigid putty knife I started releasing
the push clips that held the plastic door panel
to the metal door shell.
Pulling
outward slightly and pushing upward, I unhooked
the plastic door panel from the top of the metal
door frame.
With a small screwdriver I separated the wire
harness from the switch.
At this point the
door panel was separated from the truck.

I removed the
two Phillips screws from inside door pull handle
in the arm rest.
Using a rigid putty knife I pried on the door
panel and released the push
clips that held the plastic door panel to the
metal door frame.
When prying on the panel,
it's important to pry close to the push-clips,
to avoid damaging the panel.
I pulled the
panel outward with my left hand and with my
right hand I pressed on the top of the panel and
pushed up and it released from the metal door
frame.
