Removing Door Panels On A 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Gaining Access To Repair Power Windows, Door Locks, Side Mirrors and More.

Various screws are removed and then the door panel is pried away. Mechanical cables and electrical connectors are disconnected to separate the panel from the door.

Start:

This 2004 Chrysler Pacifica door panel had four hidden screws to remove, an interior light, door latch, lock cable and electrical wires to disconnect.

Remove screws front area of door panel 2004 Chrysler Pacifica.

Using a small Phillips screwdriver I removed these two screws from the front upper corner.

 

With a small flat screwdriver I pried up on the back part of this small screw cover located in the inside door latch. Prying up plastic screw cover.

 

Using Phillips screwdriver removing latch screw 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. I removed the door latch mounting screw with a Phillips screwdriver.

 

Behind the inside door panel pull handle, I opened the screw cover by prying on the front edge of the cover. Inside pull handle cover door panel 2004 Chrysler Pacifica.

 

Removing fastening screw from pull handle 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. Using a Phillips screwdriver I removed the mounting screw behind the cover.

 

I pried the lens cover from the interior lamp assembly at the bottom corner of the door. Removing interior lamp cover 2004 Chrysler Pacifica.

 

Removing interior light assembly on lower area of door, 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. I pried on the tabs at each end of the white plastic lamp holder to release it from the door panel.

 

Then I pried up on the wire connector lock tab (red arrow) and pulled the connector out. I set aside the lamp assembly. Disconnect wire from interior lamp assembly 2004 Chrysler Pacifica.

 

Remove plastic door panel from metal door frame 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. I used a rigid putty knife to pry between the metal door frame and plastic door panel, working along the edge to release the snap clips.

After the panel was released, I had to disconnect the cables and wire connectors.

 

Disconnecting The Door Latch & Lock Mechanical Cables:

I pulled back on the latch cable and slid the cable wire through the bottom of the retainer. Remove door latch cable 2004 Chrysler Pacifica.

 

Unhook inside door latch clips 2004 Chrysler Pacifica Then I pushed the plastic clip off the shaft at the cable end, using a small screwdriver. I pulled the cable end from the clip. 

 

I pulled the door lock cable sleeve (red arrow) from its retainer (yellow retainer). Then I slid the wire end from the lock button retainer. Anchoring end of cable for inside door lock cable, Chrysler Pacifica.

Speaker Wiring:

I found it to difficult to remove the wire connector from the small speaker.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, I removed the screws at each end of the speaker so I could pull it away from the door panel.

Disconnect inside door speaker wire 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. Then, using a small flat screwdriver, I pried up on the connector lock tab (red arrow) and pulled it apart.

I then mounted the speaker back into the door panel.

 

To remove the wire connector from power window and door lock panel, I had to press in on the lock tab (yellow arrow). Disconnect power door lock wire 2004 Chrysler Pacifica.

 

Disconnect power window wires 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. Then with lock tab pressed in I pulled the connector from the panel.
