Removing The Side Mirror On A 2005 Chevy Trailblazer

(Covers Model Years 2002 to 2007)

After the door panel is removed, the mirror wiring is disconnected and the mounting bolts for the side mirror are removed.

Start:

Lift door panel off car, 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. To remove the side-view mirror on a Chevy Trailblazer, the door panel and speaker must be removed.

 

I followed the side view mirror wire down to this cable mounting bracket.

I removed the plastic bracket by prying it off with a tack puller.

 Release wire from metal door panel 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

 

Remove foam insulation from mirror munting area 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. Then I removed the insulation foam (red arrow) covering the mirror mounting bolts.

 

I used a 10mm socket to remove the 3 mounting nuts.

Then I pulled the mirror away from the car while threading the wires through the hole.

Be careful ... hold the mirror so it doesn't fall when the last nut is removed.

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
