This 2002 Chevy Impala
door panel had six screws (red arrows) as well
as snap clips around the perimeter.
I removed the
Phillips-head screw from the side view
mirror cover, and
then I unhooked it from the bottom.
To remove the inside door latch cover, I used a
Phillips screwdriver to remove the mounting
screw...
...then I used a flat screwdriver to pry behind
the cover to release the
snap clips.
Then I was then able to maneuver
the cover off the handle.
With a small
flat screwdriver I pried open the side
mounting tabs and pulled the door lock switch from
the cover.

showing snap clips.
Next I pressed in the lock tab and pulled the wire
connector from the door lock switch.
At the bottom of inside door pull handle, I used
a #27 Torx tip socket to remove two screws
fastening the window switch panel to the door
frame. (Note: This screw head could be a Torx
T30... I didn't have one available, so I used a
T27.)
Then I pulled the switch panel back to unhook it
from the door panel.
Using a small
flat screwdriver, I pressed in on the wire connector
lock tabs and pulled out the electrical connectors.

The red arrow shows the hook at the front of the
panel.
Using the #27
Torx tip I removed the two mounting screws
hidden behind the switch panel.
To release the snap clips around the door panel,
I pried between the door panel and metal door
frame with a rigid putty knife.
I covered the putty knife with masking
tape to prevent scratching.
I pulled the
panel back, removing it from the door frame.

Removing The Rear Door Panel:
The rear door had five screws fastening it to
the metal frame, plus the usual snap clips
around the bottom and side edges.
At the top-rear
of the door panel, I
pried on the top of this plastic cover and unhooked it from
the bottom.

arrow points to the hook that goes behind the
door panel.
I removed the
screw from the inside door latch handle cover, using a Phillips screwdriver.
I used a tack puller to pry the plastic trim cover from the
door panel, releasing the snap clips.
Then I slid the cover forward off the handle.

into this part.
I used a #27 Torx tip socket to remove the two
screws from the bottom of the inside door pull
handle and window switch panel.
Then I lifted
the switch panel up in the back, and slid it back
to unhook it from the front.
I used a flat screwdriver to press in on the
wire connector lock tab and then pulled the wire
connector out of the window switch.

Using the #27 Torx tip, I removed the two screws
hidden behind the switch panel.
I slid the
putty knife between the plastic door panel and
metal door frame and pried against the panel to
release the snap clips.
Then I pulled the plastic panel from the metal
door frame.
