Two nuts are removed and the tail light assembly is pulled away from the car. Electrical connecters are unplugged and bulbs are removed.

Start:

This 2004 Mercedes Benz ML320 had a broken tail lamp lens that I had to replace.

Removing tail light bolts, Mercedes.

I used a 10mm socket to unscrew the nut on the stud of the tail light mounting panel.

 

Then I removed the nut on the lower stud. Remove tail light fasteners, Mercedes ML320.

 

Pulling tail light lens from car, Mercedes. I pulled the lens from the mounting panel.

 

To remove the wiring connector from the side marker lamp, I had to press in the metal clips on the side of the connector.

To remove the side marker lamp socket I had to twist the socket counter clock-wise and pull it out.

Disconnecting wiring at tail lamp, Mercedes ML320 SUV. I used a flat screwdriver to press the release tab and pull the main wiring connector out of the lens.

 

Then to remove the bulb mounting panel I pressed the side tabs in. Removing bulb mounting panel from tail light assembly, Mercedes.
